Fujitsu Brings Agentic AI Into Enterprise IT Support
Fujitsu has introduced an Agentic Service Desk designed to use artificial intelligence to resolve workplace IT problems through natural voice interactions and digital collaboration platforms.
The service is powered by Aurora, Fujitsu’s multilingual AI workplace agent. According to Fujitsu, Aurora can support natural interactions in more than 50 languages and autonomously resolve IT issues while maintaining human oversight for critical business decisions.
The announcement represents a shift from traditional IT helpdesk models based largely on ticket creation and routing toward AI-assisted and increasingly autonomous service management.
From Ticket Handling to Automated Resolution
Traditional IT service desks often require employees to submit a ticket, wait for a response and communicate with technical support personnel before an issue can be resolved.
Fujitsu’s approach is designed to reduce some of these steps.
Employees can interact with Aurora through voice or collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams. Behind the scenes, the system can use enterprise information, IT service-management systems and AI-driven orchestration to help diagnose and resolve problems.
The objective is to allow employees to receive support within their normal workflow rather than repeatedly switching between different systems.
Combining Voice AI, RAG and AI Orchestration
Fujitsu says Aurora combines several AI technologies.
Its architecture includes a multilingual voice interface, a multimodal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system and an AI orchestration layer.
The RAG component is designed to retrieve information from trusted enterprise data, while the orchestration layer coordinates AI-driven workflows. Fujitsu says human-in-the-loop safeguards are maintained for critical business decisions.
This combination is important because enterprise IT support often involves more than answering simple questions. A support system may need to understand company-specific information, identify the nature of an issue and interact with other systems before a resolution can be completed.
Digital Transformation Beyond Software Adoption
The development also illustrates an important aspect of digital transformation: changing how work is performed, rather than simply introducing another software application.
An AI-powered service desk can potentially affect employee experience, IT operations, support workflows and how organizations allocate technical resources.
Fujitsu describes the initiative as part of a broader transformation of its Digital Workplace Services portfolio.
What Organizations Need to Consider
Although agentic AI can automate increasingly complex workflows, organizations still need appropriate governance.
Issues such as access control, data security, privacy, auditability, accuracy and human oversight remain important when AI systems are given the ability to interact with enterprise systems.
For this reason, successful digital transformation is not simply about deploying AI agents. Organizations also need suitable data, secure systems, clearly defined workflows and governance frameworks.
What It Means for IT Professionals
The development could contribute to changing roles within IT service management.
IT professionals may increasingly spend less time handling repetitive support requests and more time managing complex incidents, infrastructure, automation, security, AI systems and technology strategy.
For professionals developing digital workplace and IT service-management skills, the Fujitsu announcement is another example of how AI is becoming integrated into everyday enterprise operations.
